 Worm Factory® 360 Vermicompost SystemNew Design
Now, Natures Footprint, formally Cascade Manufacturing, the manufacturer of the Worm Factory®, has just launched a brand new re-designed model called the Worm Factory 360®. Composting with worms allows you to turn kitchen scraps, paper waste and cardboard into organic, nutrient rich compost soil for your house plants and garden. Master Gardeners agree that worm castings are one of the richest forms of fertilizers available. They refer to it as "Black Gold." What's new about the Worm Factory 360® is a Thermo-Siphon air flow design. This design allows air to enter the system from all four sides of the base and be drawn up through the trays. Heat and gases created by composting rises through the system and exits out all four sides of the specially designed lid. The advantage this Thermo-Siphon airflow gives you is speeding up of the composting rate and further inhibiting growth of anaerobic bacteria that causes the foul odors associated with other methods of composting. Like the original Worm Factory®, the 360 can be used indoors during the winter and moved outdoors in summer if you desire. This allows year round production. The Worm Factory 360® uses the same upward migration system as the original Worm Factory®. You begin with a single tray. The worms process the waste you add to the tray until the tray is full. Then you add a second tray. The worms will migrate on their own up into the next tray. This process leaves you with a tray of rich compost that is relatively free of worms. It is usually not necessary to pick through the tray to sort out the worms. The collection base holds the stacking trays and is strong enough to hold up to 200 pounds. Moisture that filters down through the compost is collected and can be drained by a convenient spigot. This "worm tea" is a nutrient rich liquid fertilizer your plants will love. Each tray is 16x16x5 inches and holds about 12 pounds of finished compost. Trays are stackable up to eight trays.This makes the 360 the largest worm composting system available with the smallest footprint.
